The MUNICIPAL MARKET “Júlio Freire da Costa”, located in the city center, is Pirapora’s most traditional supply and consumption center, especially on Saturday mornings. Inaugurated in the 1980s, reopened in 1991, and restructured in 1997, it brings together 76 market vendors, stalls, external sellers, bars, popular restaurants, artisans, and service providers. It offers a wide variety of fruit, vegetable, and agro-industrial products, as well as an abundant selection of typical products, handmade goods, family-farm products, and souvenirs.
The market attracts thousands of consumers, locals, visitors, and tourists, who can enjoy shopping, dining options, and artisan crafts all in one place. The combination of commerce, culture, and tourism makes the Municipal Market a democratic, diverse, and authentic space. It also features an important cultural project, “Café da Roça,” which on Saturday mornings pairs rural-style coffee (prepared by local communities) with live music, celebrating local artists.
